Dr Tapan Patel Joins Harley Academy as Medical Director
Esteemed aesthetic medicine specialist, Dr Tapan Patel has joined Harley Academy.
We are thrilled to announce his appointment to our board as Medical Director.
About Dr Tapan Patel
Dr Tapan Patel MBBS MRCP, is probably one of the most recognisable faces in aesthetic medicine.
Aesthetics practitioners may know him from his many national and international speaking and training engagements. Injectables patients are also familiar with Dr Tapan from his work on TV shows such as Channel Five’s 10 Years Younger in 10 Days.
He has practised medical aesthetics for over 19 years and is the award-winning founder and director of PHI Clinic, Harley Street. Additionally, he is a respected Key Opinion Leader (KOL) for Allergan Aesthetics.
Dr Tapan specialises in advanced injectable procedures, non-surgical laser treatments and cosmetic dermatology. However, within the aesthetics industry, he’s particularly known for his in-depth knowledge of facial anatomy and artistry with injectables.
Dr Tapan Patel’s role at Harley Academy
An engaging educator, Dr Tapan’s role at Harley Academy will involve bringing the Harley Academy curricula to life.
He excels at providing clear and candid aesthetics training, using relatable examples to make the complex, less daunting.
Dr Tapan is working closely with our Founder & CEO, Dr Tristan Mehta, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Emily Mehta, and Academic Director, Professor Sebastian Cotofana.
He translates the group’s visions for furthering evidence-based safety, precision and creativity in aesthetic medicine, into deliverable training outcomes. In doing so, he levels up our overall aesthetics training delivery, inspiring our faculty and trainees.
Dr Tapan’s appointment is part of our ongoing commitment to providing healthcare professionals with outstanding aesthetic medicine training and educational opportunities. It supports our mission to constantly drive up and set the standards for delivering safe medical aesthetics training courses.

Speaking about his appointment, Dr Tapan said:
“I’ve enjoyed a long career in aesthetic medicine, spanning almost 25 years. For a lot of that time I’ve had the honour of being an educator. But now, more than ever, I realise the importance of standardising the quality of that medical education.
"As such, it really is a huge honour for me to be able to work alongside the largest aesthetics training provider and a company that really prides itself on bringing that regulation to the industry.
"The bringing together of Sebastian Cotofana, who brings the academia, and myself, who brings the practical application, and then to be able to process that in a way that can be rolled out nationally, is of huge excitement.”
